Hotel Manager Woodhouse
I grew up in the so called Chinatown of the city of Milan. This neighbourhood is very fascinating, but before going to China I was only living it partially. I didn’t feel comfortable enough to enter in some shops, and people around me were speaking a different language. I wanted understand my surroundings and the Chinese culture around me. This is the reason that pushed me to apply for a dual degree program at Tongji University in Shanghai. When I came back I had the key to understand my daily life and I wanted to share my efforts with others. So I started to help Chinese children doing homework, I studied to became a intercultural guide for Migrantour and on top of that I fell in love with Sijie. We shared the idea to build a house where exchange students, in particular coming from China, could learn the language and the culture of the hosting country. Is is how we came up with WOODHOUSE Hotel. The hotel is born from the ashes of a old factory of the Boffi spa that is still producing wooden reels and pallets, and the 13 rooms are furnished with those products. The students are involved in the everyday life of the hotel, also by organizing events and welcoming guests. This allows them to live in a stimulating environment with continuous contacts with local and international audiences.
